Torgny Jansson, the founder of Tormek.

A Swimming Whale, a Flying Broomstick, and a Mars Explorer

This and much more can be experienced and examined up close and personal at Sharp Makers 2024. Do you dare going face to face with Krampus, the entity from German lore accompanying Santa to punish disobedient children? Or would you rather marvel at the detailed carvings of Per Norén, who also happens to be represented at the Swedish National Museum?

For the Harry Potter fans, there is a magic wand accompanied by a life sized flying broomstick from Köstler's Fine Wands. This is not to be confused with another fly stick - or rather an extremely delicate bamboo fly fishing rod by German rod builder Philipp Debus, also on display.

Experience all this, hand made instruments, a stone sculpture, leather craft and so much more at Sharp Makers 2024.

The exhibition opens June 13 and closes September 28. Get full opening hours and directions->

Sharp Makers 2023 - a Hit Calling for a Rerun

Last year Tormek turned 50, and we decided to exhibit the works from makers using a Tormek machine for sharpening the tools of their trade. International artists, over 2 000 visitors from all over the world, exhibition pieces in varying materials, from wood to salmon leather and ceramics. It was a clear testament to what can be accomplished with a really sharp tool. And what impressive pieces we got the honor of showing, from all over the globe!

If you missed last year's exhibition, take the virtual tour!

With more than 2000 visitors, and even the local news station doing a story on the exhibition (in Swedish) External link, opens in new window., we knew we had to do it again.

Tormek - A Sharp Story Museum

Next to the exhibition hall you find our little museum 'Tormek - A Sharp Story'. Here you get a deeper insight into the company's journey from 1973 to today. It features photographs and accounts of the very first years of Tormek. You'll get to know our founder, Torgny Jansson and his famliy, who were all involved in the company.

There is also an entire wall dedicated to our machines and their development and another wall showcasing some of the Tormek innovations. As if that's not enough, you will be able to step into what is probably the first Sharpness Shower in the world, where you get an audiovisual experience of satisfying sharpness.

'Tormek - A Sharp Story' is a permanent museum.
