Summer Exhibition 2025 – In Between Trees

During the summer, Tormek presents a new group exhibition where the tree takes center stage – as a form, an idea, and a creative driving force. In Between Trees – Through Grind and Motion brings together works that explore the intersection between art and craft, between technology and nature. Sculptures, sound, and installations combine to create a sensory experience in which the tree becomes a recurring motif – a symbol of time, transformation, and our place in an ever-changing landscape.

Five international interpretations of the essence of the tree

This summer at the Tormek Exhibition Space in Lindesberg, Sweden, visitors encounter five artistic voices from different parts of the world, united in their exploration of the tree's significance. Swedish artists Oskar Gustafsson and Sanna Lindholm contribute one work each, reflecting in their own ways the power of nature and the fragility and precision of the handmade.

They are accompanied by three internationally recognized artists: Lélia Demoisy from France, whose work often explores the relationship between nature and humanity; Max Bainbridge from the United Kingdom, known for his large-scale wood sculptures; and Emi Shinmura from Japan, whose poetic visual language moves between traditional craft and contemporary artistic practice.

The exhibition is a deepening and further development of Tormek’s previous art initiative Sharp Makers, this time curated by Trunk & Wise, known for their work at the intersection of art, design, and storytelling.
