MB-100 Multi Base
Get a flat bevel on the side of your diamond grinding wheel
The MB-100 Multi Base allows you to sharpen on the side of Tormek's diamond grinding wheels and thus obtain a flat bevel, which is preferred in certain applications. The Multi Base has an adjustable joint that allows you to adjust the sharpening position according to the best options for each tool and jig. It can be mounted in both the vertical and the horizontal base.

Why MB-100 Multi Base?
- Allows you to sharpen a perfectly flat bevel on the flat side of your diamond grinding wheel, instead of a slightly concave one.
- Great for sharpening luthier knives, Kiridashi knives, V-gouges, chip-carving knives, Japanese planes, etc.
- Fits the Tormek T-8, Tormek T-4 and older models.
Provides a completely flat bevel
When you sharpen on top of the curved side of the grinding wheel you get a slightly concave bevel For some tools, a flat bevel is preferable. You can achieve this by sharpening against the flat side of your diamond grinding wheels.
Please note that the MB-100 Multi Base is designed for sharpening with diamond grinding wheels. We don't recommend it for sharpening with grindstones as they wear down and require truing, which isn't possible on the side.
Setting the sharpening angle
When setting the sharpening angle using the WM-200 AngleMaster, follow the top angle scale marked "MB-100". Always set the diameter compensator on the AngleMaster to 250 mm when sharpening with the MB-100 Multi Base. This also applies to the Tormek T-4 diamond grinding wheels; DC-200 Diamond Wheel Coarse, DF-200 Diamond Wheel Fine and DE-200 Diamond Wheel Extra Fine.
